ORBINTU — Intellectual Property & Licensing
Version 1.0 · Draft — not yet in effect · Last updated 26 SEPTEMBER 2026
https://orbintu.com/legal/intellectual-property · hello@yuvi.it.com
In short
- ORBINTU owns the code, artwork, logos and text created for ORBINTU. It does not own ideas, facts, or the coordinates of Positions.
- The fonts are open source (SIL Open Font License 1.1). They belong to their authors, and their licence applies, not ours.
- The cursor artwork is licensed from its creator. It is not ORBINTU’s, and nothing here licenses it to you.
- What you submit stays yours.
- The reuse limits on this page apply only to ORBINTU’s own material. To ask permission, use Licensing / Intellectual Property on the Contact page.
This summary is for convenience. The numbered sections below are the full text.
01What this page covers
This page explains who owns the material that makes up the ORBINTU website and service, and what you may do with it. It separates five kinds of material: material owned by ORBINTU, open-source and openly licensed material, licensed third-party material, your content, and the limits on reusing ORBINTU material.
On this page, “ORBINTU”, “we” and “us” mean [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — TO BE CONFIRMED], the operator of the Service. This page forms part of the Terms of Service.
02Material owned by ORBINTU
The following were created for ORBINTU and belong to ORBINTU:
- source code written for ORBINTU, including the code that draws the ORBI field and renders the pixel headings;
- the ORBINTU and ORBI+ logo and wordmark artwork and the favicons [EVIDENCE REQUIRED BEFORE PUBLIC LAUNCH: LOGO CREATOR AND RIGHTS ASSIGNMENT — confirmation that the logo was created by or for ORBINTU and its rights assigned to the operator];
- the ORBI identity artwork, the Founding mark artwork and the pixel icons;
- the text written for the website and the Service.
ORBINTU uses the names ORBINTU, ORBI, NTU and ORBI+ as its names.
ORBINTU does not claim ownership of:
- ideas, concepts, methods or algorithms as such, or facts;
- the numbers and coordinates that identify Positions, or the idea of a coordinate grid;
- the fonts, software and cursor artwork described in the next two sections;
- your content.
No trademark registration is claimed for any ORBINTU name or logo.
03Open-source and openly licensed material
The following are not owned by ORBINTU. We use them under their licences, and those licences give you rights in them directly, independently of ORBINTU.
| Material | Copyright | Licence | How ORBINTU uses it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Libre Caslon Display (font software) | © 2012 The Libre Caslon Display Authors | SIL Open Font License 1.1 · licence text | Source typeface drawn into the pixel headings. Served from the ORBINTU site. |
| Pixelify Sans (font software) | © 2021 The Pixelify Sans Project Authors | SIL Open Font License 1.1 · licence text | Interface and body text. Served from the ORBINTU site (Latin character set). |
| supabase-js 2.117.2 (software) | © Supabase | MIT License | Sign-in and database client. Served from orbintu.com itself (pinned copy, licence file alongside) and loaded only when the account backend is connected. |
Font software and ORBINTU’s use of it are separate things. ORBINTU’s code draws the fonts into pixel headings and arranges them on the page; that code is ORBINTU’s. The fonts themselves remain their authors’ and stay under the SIL Open Font License, which allows anyone to use, study, modify and redistribute them under its terms.
Nothing on this page limits the rights that the SIL Open Font License or the MIT License gives you.
04Licensed third-party material
The ORBINTU pointer-hand cursors are adapted from “Pixel Art Cursor Hands” by Aspecs Gaming (aspecsgaming.itch.io/cursor-hands), obtained through itch.io. This artwork is not owned by ORBINTU, and nothing on this page gives you any right to it. The licence terms for it have not yet been confirmed (see the open item below).
The text and crosshair cursors are drawn in the same style. ORBINTU does not claim ownership of any of the cursors.
[EVIDENCE REQUIRED BEFORE PUBLIC LAUNCH: CURSOR LICENCE — the purchase record and the licence terms supplied with “Pixel Art Cursor Hands”, and confirmation of whether the text and crosshair cursors come from the same pack]
Naming a third party on this page does not mean that it endorses or is affiliated with ORBINTU.
05Your content
What you submit to the Service, such as your profile details, remains yours. You give ORBINTU only the limited licence described in User Content in the Terms of Service, which is what we need to run the Service for you.
06Reusing ORBINTU material
Without our written permission, you may not:
- copy or redistribute ORBINTU’s code, artwork, logos or text to build or promote another product or service;
- use the ORBINTU, ORBI, NTU or ORBI+ names or logos in a way that suggests we sponsor, endorse or are affiliated with you;
- use a name, logo or design likely to be confused with ORBINTU’s;
- extract data or content from the Service beyond what the Acceptable Use Policy allows.
These limits apply only to material owned by ORBINTU. They do not apply to the open-source fonts and software above, which you may use under their own licences, to the licensed cursor artwork, whose creator sets its terms, or to your own content.
They also do not restrict anything the law allows without permission, such as discussing, reviewing, quoting, or linking to ORBINTU.
07Code licensing
| Code | Owner | Terms |
|---|---|---|
| Website and service code written for ORBINTU | ORBINTU | Proprietary. No licence is granted beyond using the Service. |
